Dr Tommy Spears, Dr. Jake Goza, and Dr. Nia Zacharia
Tommy Spears D.D.S.
Tommy was born and raised in Maryville, Tennessee. He was the youngest son of Oliver and Barbara Spears. He graduated Maryville High School in 1978 and then proceeded to college at Middle Tennessee State University graduating with a degree in Chemistry in 1982. He graduated from University of Tennessee Dental School in 1986 and spent his first 3 years as an associate with Dr. Richard Myers out of Maynardville, Tennessee.
Tommy purchased a small dental practice on Lamar Alexander Parkway from a dentist in 1989. In 1999 he built and moved into the building that we currently occupy. Tommy married his childhood sweetheart, Sandy, in 1988 and they have 3 children. They are members of Monte Vista Baptist Church.
Dr. Spears is a member of the local dental society along with the Panky Study Club and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentist. He also has studied at the L.D. Panky Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida, Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Aesthetics, Facial Beauty Institute, Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, and has trained directly under the inventor and is a certified clinician of DuraThin Veneers (the beautiful prepless veneer). Dr. Spears offers dental care for the whole family. Dr. Spears has spent the last decade of his career studying sleep breathing disorders in adult and children. From infant tongue tie releases, to facial growth orthodontics and obstructive sleep apnea appliances ; Dr. Spear wants to ensure that each patient is treated like family and has the best health outcome possible.
Jake Goza D.D.S.
Jake was born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the youngest of two boys. He graduated in 1998 from Brookland High School, in Jonesboro. He then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Arkansas State University in 2002. Dr. Goza spent one year after college teaching at his former high school, and then in 2003, started his dental education at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. After receiving his degree, he has been working in a private practice in Houma, LA., just outside of New Orleans.
While working in New Orleans, Jake met his future wife, Kellie, who is a native of Knoxville. They were married in May 2009 and wanted to relocate to the Knoxville area. Maryville was the perfect place for them to settle down, call home and start a family. They are avid football fans and are members of the Church of Christ. Jake and Kellie are looking forward to meeting new friends and being involved with a variety of community activities.
Dr. Goza is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and plans on being involved with the local chapters of dental societies. He is a Fellow of Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Aesthetics. He stays up to date with varying procedures by attending numerous Continuing Education courses, in the areas of compelex restorative dentistry, TMJ, implants, and dentures. He performs all aspects of general dentistry, includinng whitening, cosmetic restorations, root canal therapy, crowns and fixed bridges, implant and non-implant retained dentures and restorations, cleanings, and sealants. He loves to work with children as well as adults. Dr. Goza is certified in Trudenta Therapy, Fountain of Youth Denture and is proud to be a longstanding member of the International Association of Physiologic Aesthetics.
Nia Zacharia D.D.S
Dr. Nia Zacharia- a native East Tennessean, has been practicing dentistry for over five years in New York City. She graduated in 2004 from Farragut High School and went on to attend the University of Tennessee – Knoxville where she graduated in 2008 with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. She then attended dental school at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis and graduated in 2012. To pursue additional dental training, she moved to New York where she completed a General Practice Residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in 2013. She spent the following four years practicing dentistry in both Brooklyn and Manhattan before returning to her Tennessee roots. She is glad to be back home and is beyond excited to be joining Crestview Dental.
A believer in life-long learning, Dr. Zacharia has attended several continuing education courses over the years in order to stay up to date and is looking forward to becoming involved in local dental societies and study clubs. She is also passionate about giving back, participating in both local and international dental missions. She practices with a discerning eye for detail and aims to please. Her patients are always her #1 concern and she constantly strives to provide the best care possible.
When not practicing dentistry, she can often be found with her nose in a book. As an avid swimmer she enjoys almost any activity involving water. She also enjoys travelling and hiking.
